אִסְטַלִּי, אִסְטוֹלִי, אִיסְ׳f. (טלל, v. preced., = אִטְלֵיס q. v.) resting place, road-station. Ylamd. to Deut. 4:30 (quot. in Ar.) עשה אסטולי וכתובוכ׳ he put up a station for travellers, over which was written, “When this people shall go up ” (1 Kings 12:27).Pl. אִסְטַלִּיוֹת (fr. אִסְטַלִּית). Num. R. s. 23 העמד להם א׳ put up for them (the unintentional murderers fleeing to the place of refuge) resting stations ובכל א … יותוכ׳ (read אסטלית or אסטל) and let there be an inscription over each of them Tanḥ. Masé 11; ed. Bub. 8; אִיטְלִיסִיּוֹת, אִיטְלֵיס.Ylamd. to Deut. 3:9 עמון ומואב עשו אִיסְטְלִים Am. a. Moab erected resting stations for the passing Israelites (quot. in Ar. s. v. ארך 5).
